  • “The Lancaster County Office of Aging is seeking volunteers to assist older adults with property tax and rent rebate applications.The program is administered by the state Department of Revenue. Training is provided. Volunteers would work in the Office of Aging’s downtown Lancaster office at 150 N. Queen St. between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. For information, call the Office of Aging at 299-7979 or 1-800-801-3070.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era
  • “Free testing of dial gauge pressure canners will be held at several locations during June. A Penn State master food preserver will be available to test dial gauges on Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Weaver’s Store, Fivepointville; Friday, June 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Good’s Store locations in Schaefferstown and East Earl; Friday, June 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Good’s Store, Ephrata; and Saturday, June 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at Good’s Store, Quarryville. Dial gauges also may be tested on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Penn State Extension office, 1383 Arcadia Road, Room 140.
