We are writing this after finishing our Sunday morning walk. It is cold out there.
Mother Nature, we get it! You just do not want to let go of winter. We should not be complaining about this cold spring and nasty, rainy, windy, skanky, cold Saturday you gave us. It was positively mild compared to what you did to the folks in the south and southeast … that is unforgivable.
But to have to turn on the heat again after having turned it off a week ago hurts! (We did not win the million bucks for proselytizing global warming … and those oil heat bills hurt!)
And it hurts to look at all of the blossoms that should be on the trees … strewn across the grass! Anticipation of the spring blooming of the fruit trees and tulip magnolia tree is something we hold on to throughout the cold, dank winters. And in one day, you did your best to ruin this anticipation.
But the flowers have tenacity and they seem to know that you will be letting spring get here sometime soon.
