“Farmers’ market nutrition vouchers will be available to seniors 60 years of age and older at all Lancaster County Office of Aging Senior Centers starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 2.
“Ephrata Recreation Center and Conestoga Valley Community Center in Leola will also be distributing vouchers 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m., respectively.
“The vouchers, worth $20 each, are recognized at participating farmers’ markets and roadside stands June through November. They are redeemable for fruits and vegetables grown in Pennsylvania. Eligibility requirements for the vouchers exclude residency in nursing homes, convents or any other facility with provided meals. Annual income must also fall below $20,147 for a single resident and $27,214 for a double occupancy.
“For seniors unable to pick up vouchers in person, proxy forms can be completed in advance and turned in at distribution centers with a signature and photo identification. These forms can be made available by calling the location sites or the Office of Aging at 299-7979. Forms can also be picked up in person at both the Ephrata Rec and CV community centers.
“Vouchers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.”
