  • Wow! Wouldn’t it be something if that bus came to Columbia? This York Dispatch article states, “‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,’ the ABC network show that builds new homes for needy families, will knock on a door somewhere in the area on Sunday, June 19.  Show senior producer Diane Korman said several areas are being considered for the show’s ninth season, which will air this fall. The family won’t know until a bus pulls up and there’s a knock on the front door, she said.”

The hearing will be held at 113 EAST MARKET STREET, MARIETTA, PA and will begin at approximately 7:00 PM. The purpose of this hearing is to discuss needs in the community which the BOROUGH OF MARIETTA is planning to address with funds available under Lancaster County’s Fiscal Year 2012 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), and/or Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) Programs. MARIETTA BOROUGH COUNCIL has identified project(s) that it intends to submit to the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Lancaster to address one or more of the needs identified by (the) BOROUGH OF MARIETTA and contained in Lancaster County’s Fiscal Year 2011-2015 Consolidated Plan. MARIETTA BOROUGH COUNCIL invites affected residents, property-owners, and other stakeholders to attend this meeting to identify other needs that should be addressed and to comment on the following potential proposed project(s): $226,625.00 for the reconstruction of Fairview Avenue from Waterford Avenue to Mulberry Street to benefit approximately forty-three (43) residences. Includes 2950 sy of reconstructed roadway and the installation of 1,875 linear feet of new curbs. $320,000.00 for Phase II Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Basin B, which will include lining portions of the pipe system, replace some sections of pipe, repair and replace lateral connects at the main and repair manholes throughout the Borough”
