Here are some scattered images and thoughts …
The PA Hero Walk folks do not walk the entire route; we wanted to watch them as the came through town. We were a bit taken back when their vehicles stopped in front of the park across from Prudhomme’s to off-load the walkers. They assembled there to walk across the bridge from there. They didn’t walk into Columbia. Here’s more from the York Dispatch today.
The Turkey Hill Experience is open and the prospect of out-of-town visitors is increased. There are lots of interesting things to do and see in Columbia. We think the Watch & Clock Museum invitation sign is inviting; we thought the THE tower would be more inviting by now than just posting gas prices.
The folks at the John Wright Restaurant have done a great job. We relaxed and dined on the riverview patio; the patio tables and new bar were filled with patrons.
The restaurant “has a new expanded patio and outdoor bar with a special patio menu featuring wood fired pizzas cooked on the spot along with burgers and salads. The patio menu will be served Sunday through Thursday 3 pm to 9 pm. Friday and Saturday 1 pm to 10 pm. Our summer lunch and dinner menus will continue to be served in our Four Seasons Room, a timbered space overlooking the Susquehanna River.”
By the way, they have a big “to do” this weekend. The “Jam on the Hanna” Music Festival is slated for Saturday, June 18.
