Quote for today“How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you were? – Satchel Paige

  • from the Lancaster Sunday News: The beginning of the division – Retirement community enters the fray
  • Borrowed the Garrison Keillor quote, “Welcome to Lake Wobegon, where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average.” because it appears that in Pennsylvania all of the teachers in our schools came from Lake Wobegon. From the Reading Eagle we discover: ” … more than 99 percent of educators ‘satisfactory.'”
  • Follow up to an earlier article, from the York Dispatch: “(Wrightsville) Girl still in critical condition after being found in pool
  • Restaurant inspections. Lancaster County’s facilities’ inspections are listed at the LancasterOnline Website; you can also find all the restaurant and food-serving establishment inspections (except Columbia’s) at the State database. The Sunday News lists the June 1 to 13 inspections on pages D-6 and D-8; local establishments listed in the article with a number of violations (many of which were corrected via the inspection process) include: the China Inn Restaurant and Weis Markets. Improvements are noted in several other area establishments; that is one of the purposes of consistent inspection policies.
