- from the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era: “Mt. Joy claims 1st house. A private residence in Mount Joy Borough will be razed and the property will be sold to recover costs, according action taken for the first time by council June 6. The property was condemned in 2009.”
- LEGAL NOTICE: from the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era: “”LEGAL NOTICE Columbia Borough Council will hold a public hearing in the Columbia Borough Municipal Building, 308 Locust St., Columbia, PA on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 7 pm. The purpose of this hearing is to discuss needs in the community which the Borough is planning to address with funds available under Lancaster County’s Fiscal Year 2012 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The Borough has identified the following projects that it intends to submit to the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Lancaster to address one or more of the needs identified by the Borough and contained in Lancaster County’s Fiscal Year 2011-2015 Consolidated Plan: 1) $250,000 for the total reconstruction of Plane St. from Manor St. to Barber St. (Phase II) to benefit approximately 40 residences and includes 1670 linear feet of new curbs, 3 new storm inlets, and replacement of 5′ wide sidewalks on both sides. 2) $250,000 to extend public sanitary sewer main to serve a community of 10,311 residents at its River Park on the 0-100 block of Walnut St., replacement of two 30″ storm sewer mains, reconstruction of the street, curb and sidewalk with handicapped access on the north side of the street, and new water main to the Park. The Borough invites affected residents, property owners, and other stake holders to attend this hearing for comment.
