  • from the York Dispatch: “Motorcycle, car hit head-on Route 462 in Hellam Twp.
  • [EDITOR’S NOTE: Here is one person’s observation after attending the Tuesday night fire department consolidation meeting and a number of the various municipal meetings. We are in awe of the time, efforts and energies that volunteer firefighters, fire department administrative staff; fire department auxiliary, fire police and other organization volunteers contribute voluntarily. We also want to express sincere gratitude and admiration for the many significant contributions that many citizens and elected public servants and borough staffers make daily (and it seems nightly). We encourage citizens to say “thank you” to your neighborhood volunteers … and the citizens and public servants and employees … for their unheralded devotion and dedication to making Columbia a better place!
  • from the York Dispatch: “Police: Wrightsville woman stole over $100,000 from Lancaster business” – “Police: Money embezzled from York Symphony Orchestra” Solid, transparency in accounting trumps “those trusted folks; remember President Reagan words, “Trust, but verify.”
  • from the York Daily Record: “‘Gossip’ leads police to fetus’ remains” – Lane closure on Route 30 today: “Westbound traffic will be restricted to a single lane on the Route 30 bridge over the Susquehanna River Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon, according to the state Department of Transportation. The right westbound lane will be closed so that crews can replace part of a metal bridge joint located near the west end of the bridge. Drivers are asked to remain alert and to slow down while traveling through the work zone”
