country roads musings – part 1: weed fascination

Our regimen includes a daily walk/jog/lope along the country roads … to reduce cholesterol, weight, stressors … and to observe. The daily goal is four miles with an accelerated pace; a pace that allows for observation and idea, thought and weight management.

Today’s musing: the incredible colors of the roadside weeds and foliage.

Admittedly, summer is a favorite season. The generosity of this area’s soil, precipitation, sun and temperature creates a veritable explosion of summertime bounty. Delicious fruits and vegetables seemingly are everywhere. Flower gardens are envied by all.

But we often overlook the simple beauty and the magnificent brilliance and astounding strength of the common roadside weed. With no clue (no pretense) about weed identification, we just decided to share some weed pictures with you.
