  • A teenager was assaulted and robbed by a group of other teens he met at the Lancaster Catholic High Carnival Wednesday night, police said. A group of teens took an iPod from a 15-year-old from Mountville at about 8:30 p.m. on Elizabeth Avenue in Manheim Township, according to a police report.” – LancasterOnLine
  • The North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA) is having their annual training conference this week in the Lancaster area. They will be having a K-9 Demo, which is open to the public, at Conestoga Valley High School on Horseshoe Road at 6 pm on June 21, 2012 (Today).

York City School Board gets 17% tax boost: “York City School Board, grappling with another double-digit budget deficit, approved a budget Wednesday with the highest property tax hike in York County in at least half a decade. The board approved a $108 million budget that preserves some sports teams and some art and music teachers, after an earlier version called for eliminating them in their entirety. The district entered the budget with a $19 million deficit.” – York Dispatch [NOTE: They screw it up; you pay for it. The price of incredible waste and malfeasance falls on the taxpayers.   • POLICE LOG:COLUMBIA: Brandon M. Wright, 21, and Eric M. Wagner, 22, both of Columbia, have been charged with burglary, theft, conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit theft and criminal mischief as the result of a burglary June 1 at Tollhouse Antiques, 215 Chestnut St. Both were committed to Lancaster County Prison. – COLUMBIA: Richard Geiman, 45, and his son, Richard Geiman, 18, both of South Fourth Street, Columbia, were charged after an altercation at their home June 14.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era
  • “Millersville Borough and Manor Township received $25,000 in DCED funds to assist with the Blue Rock Fire Rescue department, which began protecting both communities in January 2011. Blue Rock is a merger of four local volunteer companies, West Lancaster, Millersville, Highville and Washington Boro. The two were among 20 projects that DCED approved Tuesday through its ‘Municipal Assistance Program’ to improve local emergency services and promote community development.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era
