“Scenes seen” on a very hot Friday in June

Lots of police cars wrapping Borough Hall on a market day!

Borough’s “do and deliver” on posting the “Airport District Overlay” Legal Notice signage. The notice is published in today’s Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era and on this Website.

Tenant at THE?

Upstairs storage at THE: Boxes, ladders and other “stuff” visible on the second floor above the entrance to the closed ice cream store.

There was a decision at the Monday evening “meeting of the whole” that the grant funding sign has been on the Columbia Market House long enough. It should be coming down one of these days.

Spill containment resources residue from Wednesday’s fire in front of Sahd Recycling on Lancaster Avenue.

Signs on parking meters reminding everyone about today’s Craft Show.

Condemnation sign on “nasty door” on Locust Street.

Here yesterday; gone today! Another business tragedy. Just over six months ago, this business operator announced in LEGAL NOTICE published in the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era, November 11, 2011. FICTITIOUS NAME: Crystal Stough did file in the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on or about 08-03-2011 registration of the name: RELEASE HAIR & NAIL SALON under which she intends to do business at 17 S. 3rd St., Columbia, PA 17512 pursuant to the provisions of the Act of Assembly December 16, 1982, Chapter 3 known as the “Fictitious Name Act.”

On September 6, 2011, Columbia news, views & reviews published this photo. We wonder what Columbia’s Community Development and Economic Development entities are doing to cultivate, develop, attract and keep small business enterprises in town. See this article.

Downtown physical improvements are great; and the folks doing the work on the projects (as the two men above) are doing a spectacular job. The brick-accented sidewalks; new trees and lights are welcome mats. The spy cameras and insincere, hostile borough leadership are not!

Breakfast at Hinkle’s is a must for the G-Girls before a visit to the Turkey Hill Experience. Kids love the special chocolate milk and breakfast at Hinkle’s. These two are so proud of their “tongue-roll” and new Dollar General shades.

The Turkey Hill Experience was hosting a bustling crowd of out-of-town and local grandparents, parents and children enjoying the THE’s ice cream and iced tea making discovery attraction. Unfortunately we lost those photos during the email transfer process.
