- Legal Notice published in the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era, June 30, 2012 – “Legal Notice Borough Council of the Borough of Columbia will hold a public hearing regarding the following described Ordinance and immediately following thereafter will consider for adoption at its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, July 9, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 308 Locust Street, Columbia, Pennsylvania an ordinance titled and summarized as: “an Ordinance of the Borough of Columbia, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania amending the Code of the Borough of Columbia, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, setting forth its authority to establish an “Airport District Overlay”, and provisions regarding: purposes of the Ordinance; relation of the overlay to other zones; definitions; establishment of airport zones; airport zone height limitations; permit requirements; use restrictions; nonconforming uses; obstruction marking and lighting variances; violations and penalties; appeals; conflicting regulations; amending the official zoning map by the adoption of an official supplementary airport overlay zoning map; providing for the repeal of inconsistent ordinances; providing for the severability of the Ordinance; and providing that the Ordinance shall take effect as provided by Pennsylvania law.” A complete copy of the Ordinance may be inspected at the Municipal Building, 308 Locust Street, Columbia, PA during regular business hours and the Lancaster Law Library, 50 North Duke Street, Lancaster, PA and a copy is on file with the Lancaster Newspapers, 8 West King Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. - POLICE LOG: “MANOR TWP.: A resident of the 200 block of Blue Rock Road awoke on Monday to the sound of glass breaking at his kitchen door, police said. He armed himself with a gun and called 911. He heard his kitchen door open and yelled for the intruder to get out. The intruder then fled through the backyard. With assistance from Southern Regional Police, officers tracked the suspect with a police dog, but lost the trail at a nearby creek. This is the latest in a series of residential break-ins in this general area of Millersville Borough and Manor Township that police are investigating. Police ask residents to report any suspicious activity in the area.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era
