Now see the double asterisk in the block where the “below for details” is found. In 5 1/2 point type is this disclaimer or the “details”: “”**with select Queen or King mattress set purchase.” First of all, nobody should use 5 1/2 point type; for most people, it’s just plain too difficult to read. The type size you’re now reading is 12 point; for many, even this may be considered small. Secondly, the design of this ad further lessens readability by reversing out the type in a surprint – the type is white in a colored background.
