  • The York Daily Record reports: “Chief R. Wayne Pearson is no longer with the Wrightsville Borough Police Department. The council voted 5-0 Monday to end Pearson’s employment with the borough effective immediately, Mayor Neil Habecker said Monday evening. It is a personnel matter, Habecker said. He declined to comment further. Pearson has been with the department for about 5 1/2 years, Habecker said. Pearson could not be reached immediately for comment. Four years ago, the borough was embroiled in controversy over whether to keep the local police force or contract services from another department. The borough decided to keep the local force after a majority of residents told elected officials that is what they wanted — even if it meant a tax increase.”
