  • “The Manheim Township Public Library will offer another presentation of its Music Discovery Series on four Thursdays starting Sept. 13. The sessions will be led by Ann Leisawitz, pianist, composer and music professor at HACC. They will be held in the Morgan Program Center of the library, 595 Granite Run Drive, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Topics are: Sept 13, “The Brilliance of Beethoven: Exploring Symphonies, Sonatas and Concertos.” – Sept 20, “The Romantic Era: Symphonies of Brahms and Tchaikovsky.” – Sept 27, “Music Makes an Impression: Debussy and Ravel.” – Oct 4, “By George, It’s Gershwin: Show Music of the Gershwin brothers, Ira and George.” The sessions, which are free, require advance registration through the library’s website or by calling 560-6441.
  • POLICE LOG:MARIETTA: Alicia A. Coleman, 33, of 301 N. Third St., Columbia, and a 17-year-old Columbia boy were each charged on Friday with criminal conspiracy and two attempted thefts from vehicles, Susquehanna Regional police reported. Police responded to a report on March 19 that people were trying doors on vehicles in an attempt to enter them in the 500 block of East Market Street. Coleman and the juveniles were apprehended near the scene, police said. The juvenile is being referred to Lancaster County Juvenile Authorities. – MOUNT JOY: Jonathan Michael Paetz, 27, of 78 Engle Road, Marietta, was charged with burglary and indirect criminal contempt, borough police reported Friday. On Aug. 9, he allegedly entered a woman’s home without permission, threw her on a couch and hit her. Two days later, the woman allegedly awoke to find Paetz standing at her bed after entering the home without permission. He allegedly grabbed her by the hair and dragged her out of her bedroom. Paetz also recently contacted her numerous times via text messages and phone calls despite the woman having a protection from abuse order against him. – EAST DONEGAL TWP.: Ciara S. Gentry, 18, of Columbia, April N. Mason, 18, of Newport News, Va., a 17-year-old township girl and a 15-year-old Elizabethtown girl were cited after police responded to a disturbance call and found a party involving underage drinking in the first block of Chelmsford Drive Aug. 17.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era
