  • Phoney George! The cashier at Musser’s swiped the dollar bills with a counterfeit money pen yesterday. When asked about counterfeit one dollar bills, the cashier replied that several had been passed within the past two weeks. Really? Someone is floating counterfeit one dollar bills. This is a tough economy!
  • In Lancaster City, the City issued citations issued to city landlords in June. the list included Ernest Dancil and Lorne Ruby, 20 N. Second St., Columbia, first citation for failure to repaint front porch, including missing balusters on active rental property at 629 S. Lime St.” – Lancaster Sunday News

  • Another view: Where will people go for reliable, credible information as the number of newspapers decline and network television news continues to dissipate. Last week’s news that the Harrisburg Patriot-News and several other newspaper will reduce their publishing schedules to three days a week, perhaps, is a harbinger. Reading Eagle editor, Harry Deitz, hits a key issue in his opinion column in today’s newspaper as he states: “But there also is a danger. Social media can distribute information we may not believe is appropriate or suitable to share. It can lead to widespread rumors and untruths.”

  • The bare-ass truth! “A York woman was arrested at the Springettsbury Township Walmart after she took her pants off and exposed herself, according to Springettsbury Township Police. Xiomara Saenz was taken into custody Tuesday after employees at the store saw her putting clothes from the racks into her purse before she took her pants off, according to a news release. The employees called police and Saenz was taken to Central Book and charged with retail theft, open lewdness and disorderly conduct.” – York Sunday News
