today is Labor Day – 2012 & some links to distressing and depressing articles

We went back to Labor Day last year to find this article; funny that another year’s gone by and the “distressing and depressing articles” remain what they were then. What a difference a year does not make and that old news is today’s news?

“Labor Day is an American federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September (September 3 in 2012) that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers. Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. It also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, and is celebrated with parties, parades and athletic events. (SOURCE: wikipedia)

“Since this Depression began at the end of 2007, America’s potential labor force – working-age people who want jobs – has grown by over 7 million, but since then the number of Americans with jobs has shrunk by more than 300,000.” Read the Robert Reich article with this depression quote here.
