- POLICE LOG: “MANOR TWP.: Township police responded Wednesday night to a neighbor’s call about banging noises and arrived to find an open door and damaged door frame at a residence in the 100 block of Walnut Hill Road. The home’s owners, who had been out of town, returned and were not sure if anything had been stolen. The home is near the border of Millersville Borough, where there have been numerous burglaries over the past several months, police said. Millersville police reported that jewelry was taken overnight Wednesday during a break-in at a house in the first block of North Duke Street. Entry was gained by moving an air conditioner at the rear of the home. – MANOR TWP.: Someone broke into a home in the 500 block of Saratoga Road while the homeowner was away last week. Entry was gained by breaking out a pane of glass. It is unknown what was taken at this time. – EAST HEMPFIELD TWP.: Jason E. DeVirgilis, 37, of the 300 block of Indian Head Road, Columbia, was charged after police said he repeatedly struck a woman Sept. 8 in the 1500 block of McFarland Drive, Landisville. He was sent to Lancaster County Prison on $10,000 bail. – MANOR TWP.:Joshua Garcia, 20, of Pacific Avenue, was charged with taking a bicycle, worth $160, from the backyard of a home in the 1700 block of Columbia Avenue on Sept. 2. – EAST HEMPFIELD TWP.: Travis J. Wallace, 18, of Wasp Street, Marietta, and Colby D. Border, 21, of Amosite Road, Bainbridge, were charged after police said they were seen leaving Brubaker Inc., 1284 Rohrerstown Road, Thursday, with a large amount of scrap metal in the bed of their truck. – Lancaster Sunday News
