- POLICE LOG: “WEST HEMPFIELD TWP.: Police believe that a male and a female robbed Westside Beverage, 799 Leffler Court, on Sept. 18 at 8:15 p.m., township police Chief Mark Pugliese reported Monday. The male pointed a handgun at a clerk and demanded money, he said. The robbers got an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise. They fled south toward Quarry Drive and the back of the Hess Express store, Pugliese said. Both robbers wore red bandannas over their faces, knit caps and gloves. The male wore a shirt that was possibly red, and dark pants or jeans, he said. The female wore a dark green shirt or sweatshirt, and dark jeans.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era
