New staffers added at Library

The Columbia Public Library is very pleased to announce the hiring of two new employees and expanding hours of a third employee.

The two new employees are Tammy Druzba and Sharon Negron.  The expanded hours employee is Samuel Edmond.

Tammy Druzba is a 1992 graduate of Exeter Township High School.  She graduated from Lancaster Bible College in 1998 with her bachelor’s degree in general ministry.   She took graduate level classes at the Myerstown Evangelical Theological Seminary and also worked in the library there.  Tammy has two sons:  Matthew attends Park Elementary and Ethan attends pre-school at Wonder Club.  Tammy attends Crossings Community Church.  She enjoys writing poetry and has had her work published in national anthologies.  Tammy will be working morning shift hours at the library.

Sharon Negron is a 2007 graduate of Columbia High School.  Her family moved to Columbia in 2002 when she was thirteen years old.  Sharon has college credits from Westwood College online and has worked at Scantron for five years before she began volunteering at the library.  Sharon has two sisters: Hannah and Mary-Beth.  (Mary-Beth is also a teen library volunteer).  Sharon attends LCBC at the church’s Manheim campus.  She enjoys reading, writing, and listening to music.  Sharon will be working primarily evening hours at the library.

Few people in Columbia do not know Sam Edmond.  He was born and raised here and graduated from Columbia High School in 1976.  He served in the National Guard and previously worked at Wyeth Laboratories.  Sam has worked at the library for nearly 7 years now and is currently our Webmaster and computer trainer.  He is a member of Mount Zion AME Church and is also judge of elections for the fifth ward of Columbia.  Sam played football during his years at Columbia High School and is a big Oakland Raiders fan.  Sam will be working afternoon shift hours at the library.
