  • POLICE LOG: “LANCASTER: Marquice Gatewood, 31, first block of South Arch Street, was arrested near his home at 4 a.m. Saturday after officers responded to a report of shots fired. Police said Gatewood was found in possession of a .22-caliber handgun stolen in Columbia Borough; Officer Henry Barrie charged Gatewood with receiving stolen property, illegal possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, public drunkenness and possession of a small amount of marijuana. – MANOR TWP.: A township man was scammed out of more than $4,000 in what looks like a bogus auction on Google, police said. The resident told Officer Tom Moser Oct. 3 that he thought he had purchased a 2012 Kubota tractor, a trailer and a brush hog mower for about $2,500. The man wired the money to Texas, then sent more money for shipping at the request of the seller before contact was severed, police said. – A township woman who runs a business told Officer Mark Burkholder she was advised by Susquehanna Bank of more than $600 in fraudulent purchases made through her checking account in the beginning of September. – MANOR TWP.: On Tuesday, a resident of the 1000 block of Stone Manor Drive told Officer Mark Burkholder that a thief used his credit card information to make more than $600 in Apple Store purchases within the past week. The items were delivered locally, police said. – On Friday, a resident of the 2200 block of Manor Ridge Drive reported someone made unauthorized online purchases totaling $90 using her credit card, police said. MANOR TWP.: Property valued at more than $2,000 was taken from a garage in the 1600 block of Columbia Avenue. – MARIETTA BOROUGH: Four people were arrested and taken into custody following a disturbance Friday evening, according to Susquehanna Regional police.   1. By 2040, Columbia will grow by 28 people! Again, we ask where the justification is from the School Board to spend $17 million on upgrades to the high school, when the real effort should have been made to physically consolidate or at least share/consolidate resources with neighboring school districts like Donegal. Per these figures, one can expect to see Columbia graduating classes of 75-90 per yer continue for the next 28 years!!!!
