  • Last night’s football game at ELCO was suspended in the second quarter. “Elco, which honored its seniors prior to kickoff, will carry a one-point lead into today’s restart at 1 p.m. On their first possession, the Raiders rolled 55 yard on six plays, capped off by a 27-yard touchdown run by wildcat quarterback Cameron Strause. Soccer-transplant Clayton Bauder drilled the extra point for a 7-0 cushion. Columbia, which punted on its first three opportunities, answered early in the second quarter on a 21-yard scoring strike from Kyle Warfel to Will Kreiser. The Tide tried a fake on the point after, only to have Raider defender Nick Sprenkle break up the pass in the end zone. That proved to be the final play of the night, as the game will resume with Columbia kicking to Elco with 9:41 left before halftime. The game’s been rescheduled to today at 1:00 pm. • Columbia’s girls’ volley ball team downed: “After Penn Manor won the first two games against Columbia, the Crimson Tide (10-2, 12-7) surged to a 23-21 lead in the third game. But a Columbia hitting error followed by an ace from Kristen Longsderff, a kill from Jessie Greenslade (match-high 14 kills) and an Erin Henry block, gave the Comets the game and match. “We served really well,” said Penn Manor coach Jarod Staub. “Dana (Mowbray) and Gabby (Anders) had really good float serves and they were huge.” Myranda Kemrer finshed with eight kills for the Comets and Mowbray and McKenna Edwards each had three blocks. Jenai Plowden led the Crimson Tide with six kills and three blocks.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era
