  • Ironville Pike detour lifted by late afternoon yesterday.
  • “For the first time in 10 years, the Crimson Tide girls won a district playoff match, Wednesday night at Wilson as Columbia defeated Conestoga Christian, 3-1. The Tide (13-6) advances to the semifinals tonight at 7:30 at Central York against Dayspring Christian (14-0), which defeated Christian School of York. Wednesday’s match was a rematch from two weeks ago between the Tide and Cougars, won by Conestoga Christian in five games. Columbia, the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section Three champ, got off to a fast start in game one, jumping out to a 5-0 lead before the Cougars pulled within 9-8. Game one remained close until Alex Slick served four straight points to break the game open as the Tide won 25-17. Columbia also started fast in the second game and iced it with Megan Seibert serving 10 straight points in a 25-10 victory. The Tide also started fast in game three and held a 24-19 lead before the Cougars rallied to win, 26-24. Columbia did not take control of the fourth and deciding game until late in the first rotation and eased into a 25-16 win.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era

  • POLICE LOG: “MAYTOWN: Scott T. Rohrer, 24, of 111 Maplewood Lane, Maytown, turned himself in to police Tuesday. Rohrer was wanted on charges that he burglarized two of his neighbors’ homes. Police said he was committed to Lancaster County Prison. A detainer also was placed against him by Adult Probation and Parole. – MARIETTA: Samuel S. Schreiner, 19, of 112 Sawmill Road, Elizabethtown, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia as the result of a traffic stop Sept. 2 at Route 441 and Hazel Avenue.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era
