- Yesterday morning, “On Route 30 near Columbia, a fiery five-vehicle wreck sent two people to the hospital and closed eastbound lanes of the highway for about an hour, police said. The crash occurred at 8:30 a.m. at the on-ramp to Route 30 at Route 441. The driver of a minivan struck the rear of one of four vehicles that were stopped at the end of the on-ramp and preparing to enter traffic, according to Columbia Borough police Officer Bryan Keyser. The impact set off a chain-reaction crash involving all four cars. It also sparked a fire in the minivan, he said. Keyser said the female driver of the minivan safely exited the vehicle. She and the male driver of the vehicle she struck were taken to an area hospital. Keyser said they were treated and released. Police didn’t release the names of the drivers Monday. The crash remains under investigation.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era
