  • Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era‘s look at the 2012-13 LL league girls’ basketball teams – “Columbia: COACH — Maureen Schulz (First year) – LAST YEAR’S RECORD — 2-14 L-L, 5-17 overall – KEY PLAYERS LOST — F Paige Herchelroath, C/F Georgie Shoeff. – BACK ON THE FLOOR — F/C Jenna Plastino (5-10, Sr.; 11.7), F Ashlyn Phillips (5-7, Sr.; 4.5), G Megan Seibert (5-7, Jr.; 10.1), F Alex Slick (5-7, Jr.; 0.6). – OUTLOOK — The Crimson Tide’s roster consists of only nine players, but starters Plastino, Phillips, Seibert and Slick have all been playing varsity since they were freshmen and have sparked a tenacious defense that prides itself on hustle. Obviously, without enough players to even field a JV team, avoiding injuries will be critical for the Tide in Schulz’s first-year at the helm. ‘We’re hoping to surprise some people,’ Schulz said.”
