OLA spellers: on the road to the Lancaster County Scripps Spelling Bee competition

Yesterday, pupils in 6th, 7th and 8th grades, competed in the Our Lady of the Angels Catholic School (OLA) a qualifying roune spelling bee competition. “The bee was for the top five of grades 6, 7 and 8.  The 2 top finalists will represent us at the County Bee,” said a school representative.

At the end of the spirited competition, spellers, Jillian Kemmerly, Shane O’Leary and George Reich emerged as the top spellers; these three will advance to the next phase of the countywide event sponsored by the Intelligencer Journal Spelling Bee on February 2o.
