- Perplexing … If the Borough’s scheduled “committee meetings of the whole/council” are the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 pm, why do the LEGAL NOTICES below state that the consideration for passage of the ordinances will be at 7:00. Honest mistake or intended confusion? Wonder what is the time for the meeting?

- “The Lancaster Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America is offering a one-time scholarship to a student from Lancaster County. The $1,200 scholarship will be for the 2013-14 academic year. To be eligible, applicants must be a citizen of the United States and maintain a permanent residence in Lancaster County. Applicants must be high school seniors planning to attend a postsecondary institution of higher learning or students at a postsecondary institution of higher learning currently enrolled in ROTC. Applicants also must have immediate family members (parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle, sibling or cousin) who have served or are serving honorably in the United States military. Applications are available at all county high school guidance departments.Applications, along with all supporting materials, should be submitted no later than March 31, to MOAA, Box 5031, Lancaster, PA 17601-5031.
