Borough of Columbia Council at its public meeting Monday, April 8, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., 308 Locust St. Columbia, PA 17512 will give a conditional award to the lowest qualified and responsible bidder pending PADOT’s concurrence to award. Bids may be mailed to the Owner, Borough of Columbia, at 308 Locust St, Columbia, PA 17512, Attention: Norm Meiskey, Borough Manager, and will be considered if received prior to the scheduled time of bid opening. The Owner assumes no responsibility for bids mailed but not received. Copies of Contract Documents may be obtained at no cost at www.PennBid.net. I agree 100% with Barry. When people own property they take care of it. The landlords do not live in the properties and being removed from the situation they don’t have to care. Even the larger more beautiful homes in Columbia are being sold to those that will divide them into apartments so they end up trashed. How sad for all concerned. I would not object to higher taxes if the borough was a neat, clean well kept place to reside. I was born in Columbia and have a love for it, but wow it may be time to move on and let go.
