Congratulations are in order for the Columbia students who participated in the Lancaster Newspapers, Inc.’s Newspaper in Education Week program.
In case you didn’t see today’s newspaper, you may want to pick up a copy at Stover’s to see the special newspaper supplement.
According to the supplement, “Approximately 1,600 students from Grades 2 to 12 in 92 different classes in public, private and home schools submitted hand-drawn and computer-designed ads for the Design An Ad Contest.” Additionally, nearly 3,000 others submitted entries in Illustrated Headlines, Writer’s Choice, News Features, Editorials and Photojournalism categories.
The newspaper in concert with the Lancaster-Lebanon Reading Council orchestrated this student content project.
These teachers and students from schools from Columbia participated: Columbia Jr./Sr. High School, Kimberly Shaw and Our Lady of the Angels School, Kathy Baringer and Teri O’Donnell.
Two students from Our Lady of the Angels, McKenna Munoz and Madison Haas, won recognition in the contests.
Columbia news, views & reviews congratulates all of the students, teachers and schools who participated in this Newspaper in Education project. Congratulations, too, to the Columbia students and teachers who worked to make newspapers vibrant and relevant.
