  • May primary election: In the race for Columbia Borough School District School Director, three candidates will appear on both Republiocan and Democratic sides: Tom Strickler, Cole F. Knighton and Vickie Anspach. Alysa D. Poindexter will also appear on the Democratic ballot, according to the Lancaster County Board of Elections Website. Former councilor, Sandy Duncan, Democrat, apparently will be providing competition for the incumbent, Leo Lutz, Republican, in November. In the race for four year councilor, Republicans Stephanie Weisser and Jody Gable are on the May ballot, as are Democrats, Mike Beury, Michael J. Lydon and Kathleen J. Matoska. Sitting councilor Jim Smith, Democrat, is the only candidate for the two year position.
