  • Monday is the Fourth Monday of the month and the “Committee of the Whole/Council meets  4th Monday at 6:00 pm, unless holiday” – Borough Website

Update on Columbia Projects:

  1. Ironville Pike– waiting for PA Dot’s approval to see if it will be approved in time for this year. If not it will begin spring 2014.
  2. Veteran’s Memorial Bridge – New bridge lighting was awarded to Kuharchik Construction, construction to begin early June.
  3. Rotary Park – fencing was installed and the basketball courts are ready for use.
  4. River Park – The Borough cleared additional land part of Phase 3 of this project. Fencing was installed along the railroad. The Trail Services Building was awarded to Purcell Construction and work should begin shortly.
  5. 2012 CDBG Walnut Street is complete except for Columbia Water Company’s section and the final overlay which will be completed once Columbia Water Company’s project is complete.
  6. Borough Paving Projects – Borough Crews finished paving on N. Fourth St. and have begun Poplar St and will continue to N. 5th Street and the 300 block of Ave. G.
  7. DEP 902 Grant- The Borough was awarded $178,000 for purchase of equipment to be used at the Borough Farm.
  8. DCNR grant for ST John Herr’s Estate for a walking loop was submitted and we are awaiting approval.
