Across the river, “The Zimmerman Center Enhancement Project includes major improvements to the Susquehanna Gateway Heritage Association’s waterfront site and historic building to provide high quality public recreation and heritage interpretation facilities. Key project features include a water trail landing with floating dock and canoe/kayak launch, waterfront pavilion and boardwalk, rain garden for stormwater management, pedestrian pathways, driveway and parking improvements, interpretive displays and signage, and native landscaping. Subject to additional funding, the project will also include minor renovations to the Zimmerman Center building to enhance accessibility and visitor welcome and interpretive functions.”
