- While some water companies don’t actively reach out to Customers, others do. The City of Lancaster sent automated calls to people who signed up to receive telephone call messages like this one: “This is an emergency message. Good morning the city of Lancaster is currently flushing hydrants in the distribution system. The flushing is from eight am to two pm Monday September sixteenth through Friday September twentieth while this may cause a temporary cloudiness in the water and the slight reduction in water pressure but this occurrence should be temporary. If you experience cloudy water please report by calling the water quality laboratory at 2914818(?) Monday through Friday seven am to four fifteen pm at all other times. Please call the water emergency number at 2914816.”
