  • Tonight is the mayor’s Second Community Forum: 7:00 pm at Consolidated Fire Company265 South Tenth Street, Columbia
  • Jeffrey Helm, Zoning and Planning Officer, Columbia Borough, was a panelist at yesterday’s Lancaster Housing Opportunity Program’s Housing Summit. Helm and three other municipal zoning and planning officers dealt with the topic of “Property maintenance codes address property and building upkeep issues that may pose a health hazard or threat to occupants, neighbors, or visitors. Non-structural issues such as weeds or parking of unlicensed vehicles may be dealt with in nuisance codes. This seminar will include procedures for notification of violation, enforcement, penalties, and other such provisions to help keep properties and structures in sound condition.”
  • The Lancaster County Recorder of Deeds’ “Thank A Vet” Discount Program “salutes the men and women who have served in our Armed Forces, as well as those who wear the uniform and defend our country today with this special program. Hinkle’s, Prudhomme’s, Columbia Eyewear, the Columbia-Middletown Elks,  and Columbia Bait & Tackle are on the list of Lancaster County firms offering discounts to Thank A Vet card holders.
