So what would your parents have done if two F’s and a C were on your report card?
Thusday’s Harrisburg Patriot-News did a stellar job addressing the Education Performance Report when the newspaper asked, “How does your school stack up?”
The newspaper that broke the Sandusky scandal looked at schools’ performance reports in Cumberland, Dauphin, York and Lebanon Counties and “converted the state scores to letter grades:”
A – scores of 90 to 100
B – scores of 80 to 89
C – scores of 70 to 79
D – scores of 60 to 69
F – Below 60
Using that grading system, Columbia School District’s schools would have pulled in two F’s and a C.
There’ll be lots of finger-pointing and misdirection coming from those in charge. It’s been heard before.
What if it’s a school board failure?
And yet, the Columbia School District property taxes are among the highest in the state. I pay 1/3 more than my mom who has a house twice the size of ours. What are we paying for?
