The inconsistency of justice; some get stiffer sentencing. This guy gets 20-40 years for $100K theft. Some judges let you pay off bigger amounts of theft with no jail and a $50 a month payment plan! What a world! Crime, it seems, does pay sometimes. We’ve seen it right here in Columbia.
- Would a local water company have handled the contaminated water similarly? A chemical spill into the water supply in Kanawha County, WV has rendered all the water unusable for virtually all purposes. Here’ the notification from the Water Company. And from The County. And the company that had the release of “4-methylcyclohexane methanol.” But there’s no mention at the Website.
- But did the Water Company act in time? Lawsuits claim “the chemical company and the water company were, among other things, reckless and negligent. – The Charleston (WV) Gazette
