Fourth Friday is a monthly happening where visitors can experience all the river town communities have to offer. Held from 5-9pm, the evening promises a wide variety of art exhibits, as well as unique specialty shops and eateries. Jonal Gallery/Alverta Arts Shop, 653 Locust Street, Columbia
Opening Reception:”The Paintings of Christine Ott” – The exhibit features many of the Marietta artist’s new acrylic paintings on canvas and paper. Christine includes vibrant color and metallic touches to her exciting abstract works.
Christine rediscovered her creative talents after being inspired by the spiritual beauty and colors of Arizona. Bringing home that inspiration and excitement, Christine quickly returned to painting. She continues to grow and expand her works and a few of her “shelf sitters” on deep canvas will be available for purchase. Christine will be available at the opening reception to discuss her work and answer questions. The exhibit continues through March 22. Regular business hours: Thursday-Saturday 10am-5pm. Weavings Ink, 208 Hellam St., Wrightsville
Opening Reception: “Hearts and Souls” – The exhibit features a new five piece pen and ink series by Robert Oughton “Monster Romance”. This series portrays Universal Studios movie monsters, Frankenstein, King Kong, The Creature, Dracula and Wolfman with the objects of their desire. Also on exhibit are the weavings of Phyllis Koster and antique heart objects from a local collection. Refreshments will have a decidedly delicious chocolate flavor.
