• If you caught the NBC Nightly News last night, you may have heard Brian Williams announce that the Farmer’s Almanac was the only weather resource to call the winter weather on target. He referred to this August 2013 report.

• Toomey’s another case of saying one thing and doing another. We find it curious that he shows a picture of him “listening to disabled veterans’” concerns. Take a look at his voting record on veterans issues; he walks a different path than he talks. Oh yeah, Toomey is NOT a veteran. But he is one of those who is ready to send others into conflict: as a representative in 2002, he voted to send someone else’s sons, daughters, husbands, wives, fathers, mothers into way in Iraq. He is not someone you ever want in your foxhole!

• Cole Umber’s site notes the local Amvet’s recent citation. It’s more a “pattern and practice.” The local Amvets racks up more than the county’s two other posts combined.
