CROCHET CANCELED

  • Just received this email from the Library’s director: “Tomorrow’s crochet and chat class is canceled due to the instructor’s illness. The Library director says, We have been having a hard time getting this program off the ground due to illness and very bad winter weather. If anyone is interested in attending a May program, kindly let her know.”

spring will come

  • Can you believe it; there’s a touch of snow on the cars this morning? True to its ominous word, March has been a lion; a grizzly bear; a wet, bedraggled, shivering, nearly drowned and almost defeated lamb. Earlier this morning, the National Weather Service in State College called for “A MIX OF WINTRY PRECIPITATION WILL SLOWLY TAPER OFF EARLY THIS MORNING. ICY AND SNOW COVERED ROADS ARE POSSIBLE.”
  • How curious is this? We went to another computer not at this ISP and “voila” … the http://www.columbiapa.net comes up. And there a big lead splash about the “Best 20 small towns to visit” news. Now the question is: why can’t Columbia news, views & reviews access the Website from our computer? We’ve tried three separate browsers: Firefox, Explorer and Chrome. Really strange – Really curious.
  • Just had a 20 minute phone consultation with our computer tech support company: Guess what? The problem is not on this end!!!

  • Columbia Kettle Works update: At its facebook page, the word is, “We have inspections scheduled for the end of the month, and if all goes well, we will open a few weeks after that. We will continue to keep our page up-to-date regarding the progress.”
  • Free TV this week – all week – during Comcast’s WATCHATHON WEEK! Sigh, why couldn’t this have happened during the skanky weather over the weekend?
