Quote for today… “How do I explain to PennDOT that beginning road work at the same time morning rush begins is STUPID? They do it every year. Stupid does as stupid remains.” – Ken Granata, commenter at WGAL-TV8 article about the Route 30 traffic jams.

- Rt. 30 road work: “There weren’t as many sections to repair in the left eastbound direction of Route 30, so the crews finished and restored eastbound Route 30 to two lanes a little after 2 p.m. today. The right eastbound lane yesterday required more work, and after a replacement paver was brought to the site to take over for the one that broke down, the work last night finally finished around 10 p.m.The repair operation shifts to the westbound direction tomorrow, starting at 6 a.m. Westbound Route 30 should be restricted to a single lane on Wednesday from 6 a.m. until the evening. We’re scheduled to work on the right lane on Wednesday, and the left lane on Thursday. We’re going to do what we can to hurry the work along. If we finish the right lane early, we’ll jump to get started on the left lane rather than wait till Thursday. Both direction of this area of Route 30 have been plagued with pavement problems through the winter season, with frequent pothole repairs. We are addressing the worst of the problem areas to maintain this road for a major resurfacing project next year.”
