today’s news and information gleanings from here and there!

Quote for today… In 2006, Rep. Joseph Pitts voted against establishing net neutrality rules. Comcast, a major stakeholder in this debate, has donated $35,000 to Pitts’ campaigns across the four election cycles since that vote.” Craig Parker, in his letter to the editor in today’s Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era. His points include: net neutrality favors those with money as does the representative.

parking

  • Great new neighbor’s advice about parking:Regarding parking, see the map (above) which will also appear on our upcoming website. Our patrons are allowed to park at Burning Bridge Antiques (free), the 40+ parking places (free) on Bank Avenue are only a short walk from us, there are also 20+ metered spaces behind us on Avenue H. Lastly, Locust Street has plenty of metered spaces, especially those that are regularly empty between 3rd and 2nd. We will express to all visitors to please park in the appropriate places and have the courtesy to refrain from parking in residential spaces.”

  1. If Craig Parker actually believes that “Net Neutrality” favors money, he doesn’t understand the term.

    • He’s not suggesting that; he’s saying that money buys political clout and political favor sways decisions (even FCC decisions) toward the folks with the money. Bottom line: he who has the gold makes the rules. – cnv&r

      • Perhaps if I had read the complete letter, I would have understood what he meant. Thanks for the clarification.
