Comcast restored Internet Service just minutes ago and I opened this email from PublicCitizen.org:
Here are two of the most hated companies in America:
Comcast and Time Warner.
Yet those very companies want to merge into one behemoth that would attain all but monopolistic power over Internet and cable TV users.
Join Public Citizen and Consumers Union in opposing a merger of Comcast and Time Warner.
In the latest American Customer Satisfaction Index, Comcast and Time Warner were the only two companies, across all industries, to score fewer than 60 out of a possible 100 points.
Time Warner, in fact, got the lowest score of any business ever, with 56 points. Comcast was essentially as bad, with 57 points.
American consumers already pay more for cable and Internet than people in many other countries. Meanwhile, performance and customer service are often far worse.
A merger of Comcast and Time Warner could create a Frankenstein we can’t control, with skyrocketing prices and plummeting service.
Thank you for taking action today!
