MARIETTA – Susquehanna Stage Company in Marietta is sponsoring a community pumpkin carving contest on Halloween night, October 31 at the Community House.
The contest is open to all ages and contestants may enter as many pumpkins as they wish. Entry fee for each pumpkin is $5. Pumpkins can be carved, painted or decorated and will be displayed on the front porch of the Community House. Candles will be provided for pumpkins which can be lit.
All contest entries must be delivered to the Community House between 5 and 5:30 p.m. on Trick-or-Treat Night.

Community members can vote for their favorite pumpkin by casting a $1 vote. Voting will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. and winners will be announced at 8:30 p.m. First place will be awarded to the pumpkin with the most dollar votes. Second prize goes to the scariest pumpkin, and third place is for most creative.
Selected judges from Susquehanna Stage Company will determine the second and third place winners. Prizes include goodie bags and tickets to the December show at the theater, “A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol.”
SSC will treat all ghosts, goblins and ghouls plus community members with ice cream, candy bars, ice tea and water courtesy of Turkey Hill Dairies.
