“gnatty” or “knatty” or “natty”

If only the chain convenience stores were “natty” rather than ‘gnatty” or “knatty” …

This commenter to the LancasterOnline article about the recent restaurant and eating places inspection says: “Turkey hill in leola PA has knats in the onions and other things set out for the hot dogs. Nasty!”

Gross unsanitary conditions and facility appearance is disgusting no matter how it’s spelled.

And when the chain operations get inspections comments like these, it’s just plain unacceptable.

McDonald’s on Oregon Pike: “Person in charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility, as evidenced by this noncompliant inspection.”

Turkey Hill on Millersville Pike: “Gnatlike insects around the area where the condiments are stored.” [NOTE: Several Turkey Hill convenience stores were on the list of places with out of compliance notes.] Another commenter to this article says: “You should have seen Turkey Hill’s before Wawa canme to town and forced them to clean the grime and disgusting filth.” Welcome to Columbia Avenue and Prospect Road, Sheetz.

Comfort Inn, outside of Mountville: “Person in charge of facility is not performing the duties as required by the Pennsylvania Food Code to maintain active managerial control of food safety.”
