today’s news and information gleanings from here and there!
Quote for today … “Knowledge and proficiency in using a computer with Windows XP operating system and allied Windows software.” – Listed in the knowledge, skills and abilities requirements for the code enforcement officer position shown at the borough website. Is this just plain lazy, i.e., someone just used a template from an older post or is the borough really looking for someone with skills in an operating system that’s no longer supported by MicroSoft.
- There are rumors that Columbia will have a tree lighting this year. There’s nothing indicating that the Borough will have any involvement in that at the Borough Website. There’s nothing shown at the Upcoming Events at Hinkle’s Pharmacy‘s Website, though this is: “November 30……..Community Christmas Celebration & Tree of Rememberance 6:00pm at Constitution Square, 4th and Hellam Streets, Wrightsville.”

- The new Sheetz site at the intersection of Route 462 and Prospect Road is just about ready to open it appears. The above photo is from a collection at the D.H. Funk & Sons, LLC Website. The site states, “Sheetz Columbia Project is located on the corner of Prospect Rd and Columbia Ave, less than 1 mile from DH Funk & Sons LLC Headquarters. This is a fast paced construction of a new 6,500 sf store.” Nothing definite on the opening at the Sheetz Website.
