Cole Umber‘s posted a “must read” item that includes links to the legal briefs subsequent to the issue about the oversized structure on South 13th Street brought before Zoning Hearing Board meeting on October 29. Read the briefs; click on the graphic below to be redirected to Cole Umber’s Website.
Nice going, Cole!
In the article about the case at the Hearing, Cole Umber reported: “Fiorella testified that realtor Jeff Seibert identified the 13th Street property as suitable for his intended purpose of constructing a large pole building for storing and working on personal vehicles, including washing cars. (He also told the board that friends might be on the property, doing oil changes on their vehicles.) According to Fiorella, Seibert then phoned Zoning and Planning Officer Jeffrey Helm, who subsequently deemed the planned structure to be compliant with borough ordinances. Based on Helm’s assertion, Fiorella contracted to buy the property, taking possession in June or July of this year.”
It’s just too bad that the GOBAG’s continue to allow Columbia to be “J-effed up!”

Columbia news, views & reviews – September 19, 2014 – Quote of the day – “When I called the zoning office and spoke to a rude woman named Deb I was told the hearing will be Oct 29. She assured me that it will be posted on sight and in newspaper because ‘Jeff Helm is in charge of that and he knows the laws and procedures regarding that issue’. I said yeah well he should know the zoning laws and codes also and this should have never been allowed to begin with. She told me that’s a matter of opinion and nobody is perfect.” – thread from What’s Happening in Columbia about the contested structure on 13th Street. This is just one of many comments.
