today’s news and information gleanings from here and there!

Quote for today… “How about these self-entitled piece of crap prosecutors take some responsibility for their actions, stop looking the other way on police misconduct, and stop measring their success by the number of people they convict?” – Comment to this post at SimpleJustice.us.

BAH. HUMBUG!

How to spell lunacy. While having breakfast and shopping at Hinkle’s on Small Business Saturday we watched Columbia’s meter enforcement guy sticking tickets on cars. It’s just plain maniacal and suicidal for this borough to hate its business owners, shoppers and citizens this way. Other boroughs in the county encourage downtown shopping by “bagging” the meters during the holiday season.

  • Today is Small Business Saturday in Columbia – “Saturday, November 29, 2014 is Small Business Saturday® – a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities.  Please join the SBA and organizations across the country in supporting your local small business by shopping at a small business” in and around Columbia. – Small Business Administration
