PennDOT Opens Bids for Major Project on Rt.30 in Western Lancaster County

PennDOT opened competitive bids today to repair and resurface a little more than 8 miles of Route 30 in western Lancaster County, between the Susquehanna River and the Route 23 overpass in East Hempfield Township. Four construction companies submitted bids ranging from a little more than $7 million to nearly $9.3 million. The apparent low bidder is Pennsy Supply, Inc. of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with a bid of $7,012,410.

The following construction companies submitted bids. PennDOT will now review the bid materials from Pennsy Supply, the apparent low bidder, to verify the information that was submitted. If the information is complete and in order, the construction contract will be awarded to the company and a notice to proceed issued within the next six to eight weeks. PennDOT will issue a news release prior to the start of construction work. Construction is anticipated to start in late winter or early spring and wrap up either by the end of the year or early in the following spring.
