today’s news and information gleanings from here and there!

- SNL guests who’ve been “banned for life” – Reading Eagle
- Remembering small town movie houses: The Midtown Cinema in Harrisburg is an example of what can be from what could have been. Attending a showing here is a treat.
- A lasting memory: Organ playing before watching a Batman movie at the old theatre in Marietta. Restoring the theatre is a current project.

- “Readability is a website that pulls the content from any page and shows it to you in a nice, readable format, removing all the ads, navigation, etc. Since it uses it’s own servers to render the page content, it’s not actually your browser that is requesting the content.”
- “Many midstate restaurants inspected from Jan. 18 to 24 came through with no problems. Butt some restaurants in Dauphin, Perry, York, Cumberland and Lancaster counties had violations including mildew on shelves and rodent droppings.” Seems nearly everyone’s getting serious about restaurant and dining facilities! Harrisburg’s Patriot-News website has started listing restaurant inspections from five central PA counties.
- A complete listing of all inspections at food serving facilities in Lancaster, York counties and the entire state, except those in Columbia – Columbia persists in having its own inspection system with its own forms and inspection items – rather than the one used statewide, is available at the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Website.
