Did you see this article at Lancaster OnLine?
The City of Lancaster is taking steps to acquire the old Bulova building (used to be the first site of the former Hess’s of Allentown store back then) via eminent domain. “‘Since the city announced it planned to take the Bulova building, three developers have contacted the city, Patterson said. Bids will be accepted until noon July 17.”
No mention that the city will be shifting it off to an Economic Development Corporation; rather the city will be “accepting bids.”
Wonder whether one of the bids will come from Mr. Roberts or his emissary? Bet the city’s mayor and council won’t be meeting in executive session to entertain that bidder.
But since, according to this article, “(Mr.) Roberts, a Perry County resident who has done many developments in Lancaster County, including the Turkey Hill Experience in Columbia,” maybe Columbia’s mayor and council could be influenced to underwrite in the acquisition.
Wonder what the other many developments in Lancaster County are?
In a related vein, the Lancaster Alliance has this posted at its Website:
“Please join us in the unveiling of the Economic Development Strategic Plan for the City of Lancaster. To be held on Thursday, June 10th from 6:30 – 7:30pm at The Ware Center at Millersville University Lancaster. RSVP by June 8th to cwagner@TeamLanc.org
Feel the breath of fresh air when things are done in the open sunshine?
Really,,, not the Mayor of Columbia!! I’m trying to remember how many times he has screamed at council meetings,, ” there is no grant money” . Seems when it’s his agenda the grant money suddenly appears! Mmmm
